Staff Spotlight on Melissa Grover, Recruiter of Data Science + Biometrics Professionals

Meet Melissa Grover, the newest addition to our Recruiting team at SimulStat. As a Recruiter, she helps us lead the data staffing and outsourcing field by placing highly-qualified Biostatisticians, SAS Programmers and other Biometric and Data Science professionals in rewarding positions with industry leaders.

Among her many responsibilities, she spends much of her time sourcing and screening candidates to see which ones are the best matches for our clients’ needs, working closely with candidates and hiring managers to ensure successful placements that meet everyone’s goals. She then schedules interviews with the most qualified applicants, conducts follow-up interviews, negotiates rates with candidates and supports them as they begin in their new positions.

Melissa’s adept at identifying and recruiting data science and biometrics professionals. She draws on that expertise to deliver SimulStat’s Contract Staffing, Direct Hire, and Function Service Provider services. With six years of experience recruiting in the IT space, she was able to bring a lot of relevant knowledge and ideas when she joined SimulStat.

“I applied to SimulStat as the processes were very similar to what I was used to—and I loved that it’s a different industry because I was looking for a new, fun challenge,” she says.

Biometrics and data science are exciting fields full of potential and growth. As a Recruiter, she found the challenges and fulfillment she was looking for in her new role. “The biggest challenge has been switching into a different industry . . . I think catching onto the small differences, and building a strong pipeline since the skills are a bit more niche than the broad skill sets I was used to in previous positions.”

Those challenges also hold among the greatest rewards, Melissa says. Thanks to her extensive recruiting experience, she knows that a strong pipeline is critical to placing the right candidates and teams with client companies to improve their efficiency and costs for clinical trials.

She also shares SimulStat’s belief in having a healthy work-life balance to be truly fulfilled. Asked what else she would like to share about herself, Melissa adds, “I love my dog!”
